Training & Development
Orientation: A short orientation by the Human Resources Department will be given on the day of hire. The employee will be briefed on his employment details, work schedules and benefits entitlements. If you are an hourly employee, you will undergo a period of operational training before you are assigned to your job. For the daily or monthly rated employees, you will be assigned to the job immediately.
Job-related Training: On-the-job training will be conducted immediately by your Supervisor to start you on the job. Where specialized skills are required, separate training courses will be scheduled. Theses may include job-related seminars or short course conducted internally and externally. Both your supervisor and you will be responsible for ensuring that your training needs are met.
Job Enhancement Training: These are knowledge and skills that are not immediate requirements in your job, but are nevertheless important. These courses aim to enhance job performance and competencies. Example of such course is the ISO Quality Management System.
Training Requirements: Course must be relevant to employee’s current / future job scope.
Training sponsorship is applicable for confirmed staff only and in service for more than 6 months, and should not exceed 3% of the trainee’s annual basic salary per
annum. Conditions may apply for sponsorship of training courses of high value.

Employee Development Program: These are long-term educational courses that normally lead to higher academic qualification. Such courses may be initiated by you, yourself or by the Company.
If the Company initiates it, the Company will provide full sponsorship. If it is self -initiated, the Company will provide tuition aid. Tuition aid require employee to pay part of the course fees. The amount is subject to management’s approval. In exceptional cases, the Company may provide full sponsorship in place of --- tuition aid, for example, if the course is highly relevant and is highly funded by Skills Development Fund (SDF).
Self-initiated courses have to be approved by Management prior to enrolment. Factors for consideration include length of service, job performance, course relevancy and effect on your job schedule.
